Cedar Rapids council funds a second year of city newsletter, 'Our CR'

The City Council has agreed to fund the publication of the city's quarterly magazine-style newsletter for a second year at a cost of $240,000 a year.
The newsletter, called "Our CR," is published and mailed to 66,500 households and businesses in Cedar Rapids and the metro area in November, March, May and August. The newsletter includes a seasonal recreation guide and inserts from the city's water quality report and the city's Solid Waste and Recycling Division.
Each issue, which is published by Walsworth Publishing Co. Inc. Marceline, Mo., costs about $60,000 or 90 cents a copy to design, produce, print and mail. A portion of the cost is offset by advertising revenue, the city reports.
