Kajtazovic raises $120,000 for Iowa 1st District race

Jan. 13, 2014 10:00 am
Rep. Anesa Kajtazovic's campaign for the Democratic nomination in Iowa's U.S. House 1st District announced she raised over $120,000 during the fourth quarter of 2013.
This total triples the amount from her previous quarter and shows she is "surging," Kajtazovic said.
To date, Kajtazovic has over $100,000 on hand for the primary campaign and nearly 1,200 individual contributors with an average donation of over $100.
“Our campaign is surging right now, because Eastern Iowans recognize the urgency in sending a true progressive to Washington,” said Kajtazovic. “Republicans across the country are fighting for the wrong priorities -- unprecedented abortion restrictions, defunding Social Security and Medicare, denying basic rights for our LGBT neighbors and attacking economic fairness for working families.
"But I will stand strong for Iowans against these threats," the second-term Iowa House member said. "The overwhelming and humbling grassroots support we've received has come from people knowing I am the only candidate in this race with an unquestionable track record fighting for progressive and pro-choice values.”
