Cedar Rapids men charged after fleeing from police

A Cedar Rapids man, who was shot in the hip last summer, faces criminal charges after authorities say he was found hiding in the bathroom of a southwest Cedar Rapids apartment Monday night.
Andre M. Kearney, 19, along with 19-year-old Markell Hamilton and 19-year-old Dante J. Glinn, are accused of attempting to break into a residence at 3815 First Ave. SW with the intent to commit a theft, according to a criminal complaint. Officials said when they arrived on scene, the three men ran from them. Hamilton was apprehended after a short foot chase, police said. Kearney and Glinn were found hiding in the bathroom of an apartment at 2133 Westdale Drive SW.
Kearney and Glinn are charged with third-degree attempted burglary, criminal trespass and interference with official acts. Hamilton was charged with third-degree attempted burglary and interference with official acts.
