Well water testing reminder

Linn County Public Health would like to remind those who obtain their drinking water from private wells to have their well tested this spring.
Springtime and early summer is generally a good time to test a well due to increased movement of moisture in the ground, which may help reveal potential contamination problems.
In an effort to make the water sampling process easier, containers may now be obtained from the City Hall buildings in Central City and Palo.
Linn County Public Health recommends that all private wells used for drinking water purposes be tested for coliform bacteria and nitrates annually.
