Linn Democratic convention is Saturday

Iowa Democrats will hold the second weekend of county conventions March 20.

In Linn County, Democrats will meet a 9 a.m. at Cedar Rapids Washington High auditorium, 2205 Forest Dr. SE. Speakers scheduled include U.S. Senate Candidates Roxanne Conlin, Tom Fiegen and Bob Krause, Lt. Gov. Patty Judge, U.S. Rep. Dave Loebsack and ag secretary candidate Francis Thicke.

County convention delegates elected at this year's precinct caucuses will elect delegates to the district and state conventions, which will be held April 24 and June 12 respectively. Delegates will also discuss and vote on the county party platforms this Saturday.

Conventions this weekend include:

Delaware – Noon, West Delaware Middle School, Manchester

Iowa – 9 a.m., Mary Welsh Elementary School, Williamsburg
