Obamacare sign up deadline tomorrow

Jan. 30, 2017 6:04 pm
The deadline to sign up for the Affordable Care Act on the health care exchange will be the end of the day Tuesday, Jan. 31.
As of Dec. 31, some 11.5 million people nationwide had applied for health insurance coverage, through HealthCare.gov.
More than 52,000 Iowans selected a plan between Nov. 1 and Jan. 14, according to Health and Human Services figures. That includes 14,500 in the Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Iowa City, Dubuque area.
Coverage will start by March and run through this year.
President Donald Trump and many Republican lawmakers have pushed for a repeal of the ACA, also known as Obamacare. Others, however, have insisted a replacement must be in place first.
Either way, the process − no matter what the end result − could take some time, legislative observers have noted.
