Linn County Public Health director re-elected to national board

CEDAR RAPIDS - Pramod Dwivedi, the Linn County public health director, has been re-elected a third term on national professional association.

Dwivedi will represent region 7 - Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska - on the 24-member board of the National Association of County and City Health Officials.

His new term starts July 1 and runs through on June 30, 2021.

The association, Dwivedi said in a news release, 'is the voice of local health departments around the nation. Representing my peers in the Midwest and lifting our voice to the national level is an honor.”

The Washington, D.C.-based association represents nearly 3,000 public health departments across the United States.

The board 'establishes strategic direction and initiatives, ensures that annual goals are met, sets the annual legislative agenda and provides financial oversight,” according to the news release.
