The Sports Desk: Iowa football recruiting questions, like who's next?

The one vein of life during these horse latitudes of college football is recruiting. As we all know by now, recruiting is the draft/free agency/trade deadline of college football. It's continuous and it doesn't go on anyone's schedule.

This is why HawkeyeReport.com's Tom Kakert visits The Sports Desk set every other week or so.

Tom and I talked about the eternal question: Who's next? Yes, whenever Iowa gets a recruit, the inevitable question is "who's next?" Tom thinks maybe an O-lineman along the lines of Jonah Pirsig or Mike Shoff or Ryan Ward.

I asked about quarterback. That position is definitely a wait-and-see for Iowa in '12. Maybe Iowa solidifies on a prospect after looking at senior film. As of now, Iowa isn't seriously dancing with a QB, according to Tom.

We talked a little bit about the six commits Iowa does have, with DT Jaleel Johnson leading the way. I find punter Connor Kornbrath, where he's from and the position he plays, fascinating.
