Hannen, Marie E.
Marie E. Hannen, formerly of Center Point, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at Cottage Grove Place, Cedar Rapids.Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Norway, with the Rev. Brian Dellaert officiating. Family will greet friends at the church from 4 to 7 p.m. today and one hour before the service Wednesday. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. today. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown.
Marie was born Sept. 12, 1921, in Ossian, Iowa, to Charles and Gertrude (Boddicker) Schulte. She married Warren Hannen on Nov. 24, 1943.
She is survived by her eight children, Rick (Sharon) Hannen of Center Point, Jean (Bob) Ohlen of Blairstown, Steve (Rosie) Hannen of Alburnett, Jim (Judy) Hannen of Hiawatha, Julie (Jim) Foltz of Cedar Rapids, Mary Lou (Lee) Roudybush of Muscatine, Trudie (Cliff) Pearcy of Solon, and Bill (Lori) Hannen of Hiawatha; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings, Marion Kurt, Rita Hunter and Denny Schulte; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years; and her siblings, Lloyd Schulte, Margaret Schulte, Evelyn Barta, Vernon Schulte and Edwin Schulte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church, Norway.
