Dvorak, Hazel A.
Hazel A. Dvorak, 93, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at Northbrook Care Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at St. Ludmila's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, where the family will greet friends one hour before the service at the church. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughters, Jane Salat of Kewaunee, Wis., and Janet Dunn of Santa Clarita, Calif.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Ruth Jacobs, Sister Romaine Pickart and Lyle and Glenn Pickart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clyde, Milton and Joe; and son-in-law, Jack Dunn.
Hazel was born Dec. 31, 1918, the daughter of Oscar and Mary (Boddicker) Pickart, in Norway, Iowa. A graduate from Norway High School, she was united in marriage to Charles Dvorak on Aug. 22, 1939. He died Aug. 26, 2007. Together, they owned and operated Crispy Foods in Cedar Rapids.
Hazel enjoyed music as she played by ear the accordion, piano and organ. She also was a good seamstress. Hazel was a member of St. Ludmila's Catholic Church.
