Hadish, Thelma R.
Thelma R. Hadish, 88, of rural Cedar Rapids, died peacefully at home on March 25, 2011. A private family service will be held later.
Thelma was born Jan. 28, 1923, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Carlos and Faith (Baker) Connor. In 1940, she graduated from Santa Fe (N.M.) High School, where she was active in sports, band and theater with her many friends. Returning to Cedar Rapids she worked at Newman's, where she met Joseph Hadish. They married July 3, 1942, at St. Patrick's Rectory. She also worked at Culver Motors and the Linn County Auditor's Office.
Thelma enjoyed RV traveling, crafts, the Wednesday Golf Gang and farm life.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia (Ron) Long; grandchildren, Sarah Long, Carrie (Mike) Emmons, Rachel (Ed) Evans, Regina (Clint) Boddicker, Michael (Marija) Long and Faith (John) Lain; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Darlene Connor; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers Andrew and Larry.
