Nancy Anne Boddicker, 88, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at her home with her family by her side following an extended illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vinton, with the Rev. Ardel Barta as celebrant. Private family interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blairstown. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. Sixth St.) in Vinton.
A memorial fund has been established.
Nancy Anne Burkhart was born Feb. 9, 1928, in Blairstown, to Ruben and Bessie (Lunberg) Burkhart. She graduated from Blairstown High School. On Sept. 7, 1948, she was united in marriage to Virgil Boddicker at St. John's Catholic Church in Blairstown. Virgil preceded Nancy in death in 1972. Nancy worked at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, the Benton County Sheriff's Office as a receptionist, as an income maintenance supervisor for DHS and as director of relief for Benton County.
Nancy enjoyed travel, reading, crossword puzzles and dancing.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Kris) Boddicker, Jackie (Marshall) Hilmer, Dave (Diane) Boddicker and Donald (Renee) Boddicker; her grandchildren, Carrie, Chris, Crystal, Jeremiah Brett and Chase; her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ali, Jaxon, Mariah, Micah and Molly; and her extended family, Abbie, John and Terrence.
In addition to her parents and husband, Virgil, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Bernard, Bernice, Marge, Ross, Jack and John; and her special friend, Verne Aller.
