WEBSTER CITY - Opening statements are scheduled for Tuesday in the Casey Frederiksen murder trial.
He is accused of sexually abusing and killing 5-year-old Evelyn Miller nearly a decade ago.
Attorneys picked twelve jurors from a pool of 100 candidates Monday.
During jury selection, both the prosecutor and defense attorney warned potential jurors about sensitive evidence they plan to present during the trial, which includes autopsy photos.
Frederiksen was the live-in boyfriend of Miller's mother and was watching the girl the night she disappeared in July 2005. Two people found her body in the Cedar River near Charles City a few days later.
Frederiksen is currently serving time in federal prison for child pornography.
Last year, a judge ruled prosecutors will be able to use that information in this murder trial.
Attorneys expect the trial to last two weeks.
