Surveillance images released in Cedar Rapids gas station robbery

CEDAR RAPIDS - Investigators have asked for help in identifying a suspect in a robbery late last month.
Officers responded around 7:30 a.m. on June 29 to the BP gas station in the 2800 block of First Avenue NE for a report of a robbery.
The suspect displayed a handgun and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to public safety spokesperson Greg Buelow.
Surveillance images released from the time of the robbery show a man wearing a Chicago White Sox baseball cap, green hooded sweat shirt, black pants and black shoes. Police said the suspect is approximately five feet, eight inches tall and has a thin build, according to a news release.
Anyone who can identify the man in the surveillance photos is asked to call the Cedar Rapids Police Department at 319-286-5457 or Linn County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-CS-CRIME (272-7463).
