Suspect arrested in Mount Vernon Road bank robbery

CEDAR RAPIDS - Police are investigating a bank robbery on Mount Vernon Road Tuesday afternoon.
Officers responded at 2:32 p.m. to Community Savings Bank, 3414 Mount Vernon Road SE, according to a release.
A man entered the bank and demanded money. A post on the department's Facebook page said he did not display a weapon.
Police found a vehicle believed to be involved in the robbery five minutes later in the area of East Post Road and Lakeside Drive SE. The vehicle led officers on a chase, which ended with the driver in custody on Old River Road SW at 2:48 p.m.
The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Christopher Feeney, was charged with two counts of second-degree robbery, Class C felonies, second-degree theft, a Class D felony, and numerous traffic violations, according to a release from the city.
No injuries were reported.
The bank was previously robbed in late December 2014.
