A Cedar Rapids man charged last month in an armed bank robbery has been accused of three additional robberies in April and May.
Javon Dockery, 29, was indicted on four counts of bank robbery and one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. The charges are contained in a superseding indictment filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court.
Dockery and Bria Daudinot, 21, of Cedar Rapids, were charged last month with one count of bank robbery. Daudinot faces no new charges.
According to the Wednesday's indictment, Dockery on April 30 robbed the 16th Avenue branch of US Bank, and the Bever Avenue branch of Guaranty Bank on May 16 and May 29. Dockery is accused of stealing more than $20,000.
Dockery also is accused of robbing the 16th Avenue branch of US Bank on June 26, according to the first indictment. Daudinot was charged with aiding and abetting in that robbery. Dockery brandished a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from two tellers, according to criminal complaint. Dockery left with about $10,327 in cash, the complaint says.
Cedar Rapids police after that robbery identified the suspects' van, allegedly driven by Daudinot, which led them on a chase. The two eventually were captured. Dockery was allegedly found with a large amount of cash. Officers said they saw Daudinot throw cash out the van window during the chase and said she also had cash on her when she was arrested.
If convicted on all charges, Dockery faces seven years to life in federal prison and a $1.2 million fine and Daudinot faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Dockery and Daudinot were held without bond. Their trial is set for Sept. 22.
