CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Two people are in custody this evening following a bank robbery in Czech Village shortly before 5 p.m.
The suspects were taken into custody following a crash involving a KCRG-TV9 news vehicle.
Police responded for a reported bank robbery at the U.S. Bank on 16th Avenue SW, near the Czech Village area Thursday afternoon.
Police pursued a red van in connection with the bank robbery, and the van struck the KCRG-TV9 crew near the intersection of A Avenue and Seventh St. NE. While the suspects' conditions are unknown, the KCRG-TV9 crew was uninjured.
Authorities say they're still looking into the possibility Thursday's robbery is connected to any of the other six robberies so far in 2014.
This is the second bank robbery in as many days for Cedar Rapids. Wednesday, police said the Guaranty Bank branch on Jacolyn Drive NW was robbed just after 10 a.m.
The same U.S. Bank branch was also robbed at the end of April.
