Johnson County sheriff investigates string of burglaries
Nov. 24, 2014 3:00 pm
IOWA CITY - Johnson County Sheriff Lonny Pulkrabek says his office is investigating a recent string of burglaries stretching a large portion of the county.
'We've seen a number of them on the northern end (of the county),” Pulkrabek said. 'There have also been a couple in Tiffin.”
Pulkrabek says burglars have hit both residential and commercial properties. They also broke into the American Legion in Swisher on Nov. 8.
Burglars have made off with cash, televisions, jewelry, 4-wheelers and a shotgun, Pulkrabek said.
'Many times it's a matter of people not locking their doors,” said Pulkrabek.
Officials are still investigating whether or not the burglaries are related.
