IOWA CITY - Johnson County Friday afternoon lifted the remaining mandatory evacuation orders it has issued early this month because of flooding.
The county on July 2 ordered residents on about a dozen streets in rural areas to leave their homes because of rising water. This past Wednesday officials started lifting orders for specific addresses.
The county in a news release advised residents to use caution when returning to flooded properties. It said utilities may still be off and buildings may need to be inspected.
Questions are to be sent to Rick Dvorak, Johnson County planning and zoning administrator, at (319) 356-6083 or rdvorak@co.johnson.ia.us.
