One person killed in Washington, Iowa fire
WASHINGTON, Iowa - A fire killed one person early Thursday morning in Washington, Iowa.
Fire crews were first called to 2585 275th St. in Washington around 5:30 a.m., according to a release from the Washington County Communication Department.
Firefighters from Washington and Ainsworth were dispatched to the fire, which was reported as a fully engulfed cabin.
Authorities say after putting the fire out they found a body, which they believe to be a male.
The State Fire Marshal's Office has been called in to investigate the cause of the fire.
