Police: 2 men rob Iowa City taxi driver

IOWA CITY - Police are investigating the armed robbery of an Iowa City taxi driver.
Officers said it happened about 7:50 p.m. Saturday at Baker Street and Bradford Drive.
The driver told police he picked up two men in downtown Iowa City and drove them to Baker and Bradford. That's where one male showed a handgun and demanded the driver's money. Police said the driver struggled with the suspects, who ran off with money. The driver was not hurt.
Investigators said one suspect is a short black male in his early 20s, with a medium build, medium complexion and black hair. He was wearing a dark jacket and carried a handgun.
The second suspect is a taller black man of the same age, described as thin with a medium complexion. He was wearing a gray hoodie.
CrimeStoppers is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 358-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
