Waterloo police responds to multiple stabbings near Hawkeye Community College

WATERLOO- The Waterloo Police Department is investigating a stabbing that happened Friday night in an apartment complex near Hawkeye Community College.

According to a police media release, officers are gathering information on a stabbing that involved multiple victims in an apartment at 1414 Shamrock Drive. They confirmed that they received the call and officers responded to this address at 7:44 p.m. Upon arriving, officers found 'that three subjects had sustained stab wounds and/or lacerations” during the incident. The three people with stab wounds were transported to local hospitals for treatment, according to the release.

Police say the extent of the injuries are not fully known at this time. The instigating suspect in the stabbings is believed to be one of the people found with stab wounds, however investigation is still ongoing into the incident.
