Craig Roger Newholm, 66, of Marion, died suddenly Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Funeral Service: noon Friday, March 28, at New Life Community Church in Marion. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the church. Private family burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Lois; a brother, Terry (Debbie) of Lehigh; a sister, Angie (Shad) Thomason of Lehigh; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carl (Mary) Kleitsch of Monticello; two sisters-in-law, Debi (David) Meyers of Monti-cello and Lois (Alan) Lumley of Dubuque; two brothers-in-law, Danny (Linda) Bauer of Monti-cello and Denny (Julia) Bauer of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; daughter, Carrie Todd; and brother-in-law, Chuck Bauer.
Craig was born July 4, 1947, the son of Wayne and Phyllis (Wilson) Newholm, in Fort Dodge. He grad-uated from Central Webster Community School in 1965. Craig served with the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1972. He graduated from UNI, majoring in business accounting, on Dec. 20, 1974. Craig worked at Rockwell Collins for 18 years and then at MCI, retiring Jan. 6, 2006. On May 2, 1992, he married the love of his life, Lois Bauer.
Craig had a great love for his family and his church. He never met a stranger and was the life of the party.
Craig loved to travel, and had recently been on a 14-day trip to Alaska, and enjoyed many trips to Hawaii with Lois.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to New Life Community Church in Marion.
