Elizabeth Kathleen Laing, 93, of Andalusia, Ill., formerly of Stanwood, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at Trinity West in Rock Island, Ill. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 6, at the Clarence United Methodist
Church. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Clarence Cemetery.
Kathleen was born May 23, 1920, in a farm house in rural Clarence to Fredrick and Louella Smith Luikart. She married Harold A. Laing on Feb. 19, 1940, at the Red Oak Presbyterian Church. He passed away in 1984.
Kathleen was a homemaker, wife and mother and worked at Cedar Manor Care Center in Tipton. She was a past member of the Harmony Point Ladies Aid Society and Red Oak Church, and a current member of the Clarence United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon (Jim) Rice of An-dalusia, Ill.; two sons, Mike (Marlo) of Riverside and Mark of Stanwood; four granddaughters, Karyn (Mike) Fulton, Teresa (Scott) White, Tracy VandenBerg and Tonia Laing; three great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kyra White and Ryan VandenBerg; and a sister, Virginia (Carl) Dixon of Davenport.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
