Joyce A. Buresh, 82, of Oxford Junction, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at the Clarence
Nursing Home. Funeral Service, celebrating her life, will be 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 18, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Oxford Junction.
Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction. Burial will be in Mayflower Cemetery.
Joyce Ann Hansen was born Nov. 2, 1931, to
August and Wilma (Waite) Hansen. She graduated from Oxford Junction High School and went on to
college at Dubuque
University. She was united in marriage on Sept. 16, 1950, to Robert Buresh at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Oxford
Junction.
She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and WELCA. She was very active in the church. She
also was a member of
Order of Eastern Star
Peerless Chapter 435 of
Oxford Junction.
Joyce was an avid
Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan.
She loved to cook, bake and always looked forward to her card
clubs. She lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is
survived by her two
children, Rick (Kelli) Buresh of Cedar Rapids and Brent (Cindy) Buresh of Oxford Junction; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Virginia (Delbert) Steffens of Winfield,
Ronald Hansen of
Monticello, Gary (Pat)
Hansen of Lost Nation and Dee (John) Wollenzien of Thief River Falls, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
The family would like to thank Unity Point Hospice and Clarence Nursing Home for the great care of their mother.
