Timothy Allen McLees, 70, of 2032 Eastern Blvd. SE, Cedar Rapids, died at his home Saturday, March 8, 2014. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, St. Matthew Catholic Church, by the Rev. David Beckman. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Tim is survived by his wife, Carol; and a sister-in-law, Dixie (Michael) Mally of Albuquerque, N.M.
He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher; his parents; and in-laws, Edgar and Marguerite Ashley.
Tim was born May 7, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Joseph and Helen Schade McLees. He graduated from St. Patrick High School in 1961 and married Carol Ashley in Cedar Rapids on Aug. 31, 1963. Tim retired after 40 years with Cryovac. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.
Tim loved spending time working in his yard and mowing the lawn. He spent countless hours diligently stringing mast lines as he built numerous model HMS style wooden boats.
