Bonnie Jean Hinkel, resident of Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at 6:20 p.m. In the presence of her loving family, Bonnie passed peacefully in her sleep. A memorial service will
be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids.
Bonnie was born in Iowa City on April 1, 1924, and was just a week from her 90th birthday.
She is survived by her son, John Hinkel of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Cathy Jones of Prosper, Texas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Bonnie loved animals and was an active volunteer and supporter of the local humane society.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Bonnie's name to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
