Marcella Mae "Mickey" Curley, 82, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at Greenfield House, Hospice of Arizona, on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Memorial Service: 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends two hours before the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Survivors include her husband, Jack; children, Kimberly (Michael) Callanan of Cedar Rapids and Thomas (Christine) Curley of Urbana; grandchildren, Amanda Morris, William (Lacy) Morris and Benjamin Curley; great-grandsons, Rogan Morris and Dayton Gaal; great-granddaughter, Skylyn Clark; brother, Charles (Gloria) Hackman of Salem, Ore.; sister, Karen Peterson of Fair Oaks, Ind.; sister-in-law, Kay (Clarence) Hess of Lockport, Ill.; and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James.
Mickey was born June 5, 1931, in New Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Victor and Helen (Buskirk) Hackman. She married John Edward Curley on Feb. 24, 1968, in Cedar Rapids. Mickey worked for Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids for 28 years.
She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 298 of Marion. Mickey enjoyed reading, playing bingo, dancing and traveling, especially to the mountains in Arizona.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and loved spending time with her family and friends.
