Loras G. Klostermann, 62, of 429 First Ave. West, Dyersville, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at 1:20 a.m. at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque. Friends and relatives of Loras may call from 2 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, where a Scripture wake service will be held at 4 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m. Services for Loras will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, with the Rev. Noah Diehm officiating. Burial will be held in St. Francis Cemetery in Dyersville.
Loras was born May 28, 1951, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Arnold and Dorothy (Kruse) Klostermann. He was a graduate of Beckman High School. On June 1, 1979, he was united in marriage to Debbie A. Westhoff at the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville. She preceded him in death on Nov. 7, 2013. The couple owned and operated Ideal Furniture and Flooring in Dyersville.
He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1734.
He is survived by three children, Kelly (Bret) Milbert, Nick Klostermann and Elizabeth Klostermann, all of Dyersville; two grandsons, Dylan and Gavin Milbert; his mother and stepfather-in-law, Helen (Bob) Manternach of Manchester; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Duane (Lynn) Westhoff of Clinton, Ill., Diane (Mark) Schnoes of Coralville, Dan (Janet) Westhoff of Normal, Ill., and Don (Meg) Westhoff of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Ralph Westhoff.
In lieu of flowers, a Loras G. Klostermann memorial fund has been established.
