DELORIS THUMMA

Deloris J. Thumma, 84, went to be with the her Lord early Saturday morning, March 29, 2014, at the Anamosa Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Randles will officiate at the services.

Surviving is her husband of 67 years, Harold; four children, Leonard (Kim) Tucson, Ariz., Leroy (Bette) Anamosa, Leslie (Jan) Cedar Rapids and Susieq Cherry, Phoenix, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Larry in 1970; her parents; and three sisters, Lavila, Othel and Floy.
Deloris June Love was born June 1, 1929, at Olin, Iowa. She was the daughter of Floyd and Wilhelmina Hanken Love. Deloris received her education in the Olin and Clarence schools. She married Harold Thumma on May 15, 1946, at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Olin. The couple raised their family in Anamosa where Deloris operated Dee's Beauty Shop. Harold and Deloris gave their lives to the Lord on Nov. 19, 1972.
Deloris was a member of the Believers In Grace Church, Marion. She was active in the ministry of visiting the sick.
