Two arrested after hit and run, chase in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS - A traffic stop for expired registration turned into a chase in southwest Cedar Rapids Thursday afternoon.
Officers tried to stop a minivan in the 2100 block of Sixth Street SW at 1:38 p.m. The vehicle did not stop and turned east onto Gateway Place SW, where it struck another vehicle, according to a release from the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
The minivan continued to drive away from police, eventually stopping near the intersection of 33rd Avenue and Southgate Place SW.
Police arrested the driver, 29-year-old Misty Brisbin, for hit and run, attempting to elude, and other traffic-related charges. A passenger, 32-year-old Henry Rogers, was also arrested for interference with official acts and carrying a concealed weapon.
