Christopher E. Kaska, 62, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, March 10, 2014, in the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday, March 13, at Queen of All Saints Chapel at All Saints Catholic Church. The Rev. John R. Flaherty will officiate. Burial: Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church. A vigil will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.
Survivors include his siblings, Charles (Jennifer) Kaska, Michael Kaska, Susan (Robin) Hupton and Karen (Mark) Owens, all of Cedar Rapids.
Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
Christopher was born Nov. 26, 1951, in Fairfield, Iowa, the son of Earl and Evelyn (Cox) Kaska. He enjoyed violin music, bowling in the Special Olympics, yearly trips to Camp Courageous and his friends at Linn Haven. Christopher was a friend to all. Every girl was his girlfriend and every guy was his brother. He was a very gentle and kind soul and will be greatly missed by all.
Memorials may be made to Camp Courageous in memory of Christopher.
