Iowa City house fire under investigation

A morning house fire did $15,000 in damage to an Iowa City residence on Monday.

Firefighters were called to 1807 Winston Dr. at 8:19 a.m. for a report of a structure fire. Responding crews found smoke coming from the year of the single-story ranch-style home.

The main body of the fire was found on the home's wooden deck, and crews had the fire suppressed within 10 minutes. All of the occupants made it out of the home by the time firefighters arrived, and no injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
