Merle "Mac" G. McCullough, 85, of Loveland, Colo., formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Hillcrest Memory Care in Loveland. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 14, at Cedar
Memorial Park Funeral Home. Graveside services, with military honors, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Survivors include his two sons, Brad (Nancy) of Loveland, Colo., and Brian of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeremy and Michael; great-grandchild, Jeremy; and brother, Marvin McCullough of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gweneth on Oct. 6, 2000; and sister, Shirley Colbourn.
Merle "Mac" Gene McCullough was born Sept. 1, 1928, in Cedar Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Ralph and Bertha (Fowler) McCullough. He was a vet-eran of the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict from 1950-1952 as a cook. On Feb. 7, 1953, he married Gweneth Hart in Cedar Rapids. Merle worked as a warehouse/shipping attendant at Quaker Oats from 1947 to 1991, when he retired.
He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Memorials may be directed to the family, where a donation will be made in Merle's honor.
