Paul Edward Blinks of Lisbon, passed away suddenly, due to complications of lymphoma, Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. A gathering to remember Paul will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at Morgan Funeral & Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon.
Paul was born March 16, 1953, the son of Maxine Achey Blinks and John T. Blinks. He was a 1972 graduate of Lisbon Community Schools. In 1975, he married Janette Wolrab. He was involved in farming a good part of his life, joining with brother Curtis to establish Blinks Brothers, an agricultural business. For the past 15 years, he was employed by Jay Proffitt Construction in
Solon.
Survivors include his wife, Janette; daughters, Leah Striegel (Jason) and Emily Hertzke (Adam); granddaughters, Angela, Sara, Mariah and Noel Striegel; grandson, Henry Paul Hertzke; brothers, John Curtis (Laura), Douglas (Chris) and Alberta Brian (Meretta); sister, Debra Hoke (Lon); and
numerous nieces and
nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Blinks.
Paul's unique sense of humor will be missed.
