An Iowa City man is accused of sending threatening photos to a woman he's been ordered not to contact.
According to an Iowa City police criminal complaint, on the morning of May 8 22-year-old Tahmir W. Allen sent a picture message to the protected party in a domestic abuse protective order. Police said the picture showed Allen pointing a handgun toward the victim.
The text with the photo read, “This is what I'm going to do to you for snitching on me,” according to the criminal complaint.
Police said three days later, Allen sent another photo to the woman, this time holding a long gun or rifle across his lap.
Allen has continued to send text messages to the woman, who told police she is afraid of the man.
Police arrested Allen on Monday. He faces one count of stalking – second offense, a class D felony; and four counts of violating a no contact order. He was also charged with failing to appear at his arraignment for a prior charge of domestic assault.
