A teenage boy faces felony charges for allegedly telling officials there were multiple bombs at a Delaware County high school Tuesday morning.
The Delaware County Communications Center received a 911 call from a male subject, later identified as 13-year-old Jacob Ahlers, at 6:12 a.m. and 6: 30 a.m. Tuesday, advising of a bomb threat at Edgewood-Colesburg High School.
Officials responded to the school to conduct a search of the building and grounds. Explosive detection dogs from the Dubuque Police Department and the State Fire Marshal's Office aided in the search. Authorities said a complete search of the school was completed, and no discovery of any type of explosive device or suspicious item was found.
Ahlers faces two counts of threat of terrorism and two counts of making a false report, both Class D felonies, in juvenile court.
Officials said up to 10 agencies aided in the investigation.
