Cedar Rapids police ask for public's help in identifying 'funny money' suspect

Police are asking for the public's help to identify a man they say used counterfeit bills Sunday at a northwest Cedar Rapids gas station.
Authorities said shortly before 6 p.m., a white male wearing a coat entered the Casey's General Store at 399 Edgewood Rd. NW and used two $20 counterfeit bills to make a purchase. Officials hope to identify the subject in the surveillance images, and speak with him.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Linn County Crime Stoppers at 800-272-7463, or send a text message to CRIMES (274637) with 5527 in the subject/message area and the tip. All calls are anonymous.
