Man shot in northeast Cedar Rapids

UPDATE: A Cedar Rapids man faces an attempted murder charge after shooting another man Friday morning.

Police were called to 1836 A. Ave. NE at 10:28 a.m. and found 25-year-old Marneze McKnight suffering from a gunshot wound. McKnight was taken to the hospital.

Officers located the alleged shooter, 26-year-old Delamar Williams at 18th Street and C Avenue NE a short time after the shooting. The handgun used in the shooting was also recovered.

Williams lives a short distance from where the shooting took place at 1508 A Ave NE. Police have not indicated what led to the shooting. McKnight's condition has not been released.
