A Cedar Rapids motorcyclist involved in a crash Thursday on Edgewood Road has died, police reported.
Dawson R. Brown, 20, died Sunday afternoon at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, in Iowa City, where he was transported after the collision, police reported.
Brown, riding a 1998 Harley-Davidson Super Glide, was driving north on Edgewood Road around 4:30 p.m. Thursday when a 2000 Chevy Suburban driven southbound by Rhiannon Lynn Keast, 19, of Cedar Rapids, attempted to turn left onto O Avenue NW in front of Brown, police reported Monday.
Keast was cited Monday for failure to yield left turn, Cedar Rapids Public Safety Spokesman Greg Buelow said.
When officers arrived Thursday, they discovered Brown lying in the street with serious injuries. They provided care on the scene until emergency medical personnel transported Brown to a hospital for treatment, according a release last week. Keast did not require medical transport.
Officers closed part of O Avenue NW during the investigation.
Brown was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
