Police: Man exposed himself to juveniles at University of Iowa recreation center

IOWA CITY - A Washington man faces multiple charges for allegedly exposing himself and masturbating in front of juveniles at an University of Iowa recreation center.

According to University of Iowa Police complaints, 36-year-old Brian T. Shepherd, of Washington, was in the men's locker room at the University of Iowa's Campus Recreation and Wellness Center, 309 S. Madison St., at about 12:30 p.m. on Sunday when he began masturbating while staring at juveniles in the room.

Police say multiple juveniles could see Shepherd looking through a crack in the door at them while he masturbated.

Shepherd has been charged with a serious misdemeanor for indecent exposure and aggravated misdemeanor counts of child endangerment and invasion of privacy.

He was booked and later released Sunday from the Johnson County Jail.
