Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident involving a Honda Pilot and a manure spreader around 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
The driver of the Honda, 22 year old Preston Waterbury, of Center Point, was west bound in the 3400 block of Walker Road when he struck a manure spreader that was being pulled by a tow truck, according to a release from the Linn County Sheriff's Office. The tow truck, driven by 82 year old Roger Kalsem, of Waterloo, had stopped in the traveled portion of the roadway.
Waterbury was transported to St. Luke's Hospital for what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Kalsem, who was not in his vehicle at the time of the accident, was cited for stopping on a paved part of highway, according to the release.
Sheriff's deputies, Linn County Rescue 57, the Troy Mills Fire Department and Center Point Ambulance Service responded.
