Woman faces charges for allegedly assaulting UIHC nurses

A Davenport woman faces charges in Johnson County after allegedly assaulting two nurses.
Sherona Mahoney, 39, was arrested on Thursday for assaulting two health care providers at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, according to Johnson County criminal complaints
According to the complaints, the first incident occurred April 11 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Police say Mahoney struck a nursing assistant in the back of the head with a closed fist while the nursing assistant was caring for another patient.
The second incident occurred on April 19 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, the complaint states. Mahoney allegedly became upset and aggressive when she did not get extra mac and cheese for dinner.
According to the complaint, while the nurse was trying to get Mahoney into a seclusion room, Mahoney pinned the nurse against a wall and punched her twice in the rib cage.
Mahoney has been charged with two counts of assault on pesons of a certain occupation.
