Cedar Rapids structure fire burns alley garage, none injured

Last night, the Cedar Rapids Fire Department reported a fire had occurred at a detached garage located at 945 N St. NW in Cedar Rapids.

According to the report, the Cedar Rapids Fire Department dispatched multiple engines at 5:50 p.m. in response to a report of a structure fire in a detached garage in an alley. Fire hoses from the engines were deployed to bring the fire under control. The report states the garage was a total loss and there was some damage to the neighboring garage.

The report from the Cedar Rapids police says there were individuals at home at the time of the fire, but no occupants were displaced as a result of the damage. Cedar Rapids police and an ambulance were reportedly dispatched to the scene, but no injuries were reported and the report states no medical treatment was required.

The report doesn't state the cause of the fire and the incident is reportedly still under investigation,
