Marion man charged with felony child endangerment after two-month-old child hospitalized

A Marion man has been arrested and charged with felony child endangerment after his child was hospitalized with serious injuries in July.

According to a Marion Police Department media release, Matthew Tyler Judd, 19, of Marion was arrested on Oct. 12 and faces a charge of child endangerment with serious injury, a Class C felony.

This stemmed from an investigation into an incident back on July 12, when the Marion Police Department was informed that a 2-month-old child had been hospitalized 'with serious head injuries,” according to the release. After an investigation by Marion Police and the Iowa Department of Human Services, an arrest warrant was issued for Judd, who is the child's father.

Judd was then arrested on Oct. 12, according to the release, and was then transferred to the Linn County Jail.

In Iowa a Class C felony is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
