A jury was selected late Monday. The trial is expected to last five days.
Davis, 29, is charged with first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of Carrie Davis. He is claiming insanity and/or diminished capacity. The defense will argue Gregory Davis was using methamphetamine and experiencing psychosis when he stabbed his ex-girlfriend 26 times during an argument last Sept. 28, according to court documents.
Carrie Davis and Gregory Davis were not married or related, according to police.
