Nearly 2,000 Alliant Energy customers experienced power outages due to weather today

Alliant Energy is reporting only 62 customers without power at 6 p.m., down from 1,895 customers in Iowa who were experiencing outages due to weather.
Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas has been experiencing rain and thunderstorms throughout the day.
According to the National Weather Service, this weather will continue in to the night, with showers and thunderstorms likely between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wind speeds will stay low, around 5 miles per hour. The low is expected to be around 67 degrees.
Similar weather is expected for Wednesday, with slightly higher temperatures from Tuesday.
According to the Alliant Energy website, customers can expect their power to be restored by 6 p.m.
