Cedar Rapids police looking for inmate who did not return after scheduled temporary release

The Cedar Rapids Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating an inmate who did not return after to jail after being released on a court ordered furlough.
According to a police department release, Alvin Bernard Brooks, 62, was released on September 20 and failed to return to the Linn County Correctional Center on Sept. 22 at 1:00 p.m. as scheduled.
Brooks was being held at the Linn County Jail on a $10,000 bond for the revocation of probation, according to the release.
Brooks is described as a black male, six feet in height and weighing 180 pounds, according to the relase. He is described in the release as being last seen wearing blue jeans, black shoes and a white t-shirt.
Authorities are asking that anyone with info about Brooks, or tips on where he might be lcoated, to contact the Linn County Sheriff's Office at 319-892-6100 or the Cedar Rapids Police Department at 319-286-5491.
