Iowa City police seek dog after resident reports bite

The Iowa City Police Department is seeking public assistance in locating a dog that bit a resident last Saturday.
According to a news release, the person reported that the bite from 'a small dog” occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 15 at Oak Grove Park, 720 Page St. in Iowa City. The resident reported they had been while sitting on a bench near a basketball court at the time of the bite.
Iowa City Animal Services is looking for information on the dog to determine if it has a rabies vaccination. Officials ask anyone with information to contact Iowa City Animal Services at 319-356-5295 or the police department at 319-356-6800.
