Cedar Rapids woman charged with providing unlicensed massage

A Cedar Rapids woman is accused of providing an unlicensed massage to an undercover police officer.

Huajun Anderson, 41, 76 Aossey Lane SW, is charged with practicing medicine without a license, a serious misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine from $315 to $1,875.

Anderson is accused of providing a body massage to Cedar Rapids Officer Jared Jupin on June 29 at 3356 Center Point Rd. NE, court records state.

'Following an undercover investigation, officers determined the defendant performed a massage without a valid massage therapy license,” records state.

Jennifer Yue Dougherty, who owned Bei Fang massage at 3356 Center Point Rd. as of last summer, told The Gazette last summer she did not need a license to operate a massage parlor in Cedar Rapids. She opened the business in 2014, two years after Marion police raided a former parlor on Seventh Avenue.
